Join Extinction Rebellion for an introduction to non-violent direct action - both theory and practice. This will cover how to de-escalate tense situations, how to interact with police, what to do if you get arrested and much more.

We will provide a briefing about Extinction Rebellion, go through action essentials and practice of nonviolent techniques, and create affinity groups for people in the Cambridge area.

This is based upon award winning PhD research on effective campaign mobilisation, and experience which so far has led Kings College University London, Cardiff University and Bristol University to agree to divest from fossil fuels.

Please register on this page to attend and arrive for a prompt 11.30am [provisional] start.

There will be a creche for attendees with young children.

Training will finish by 5pm and the last buses from Trumpington back to Cambridge City Centre and Cambridge Rail Station are at around 5.45pm.
