Cambridge Spanish Dance School is collaborating with our Centre and the City Council to provide an enjoyable and learning experience. Given that his year's theme for the Big Weekend is "Health and Wellbeing", what better way to spend the time than dancing Sevillanas? It will help improve your mood and even your health!
The Sevillana is a colourful and exciting style of song and dance that originated in Castile, not in Sevilla as it it popularly believed. It is a variation from a style of dance known as the seguidilla. This style of dance is performed at fiestas of all kinds throughout Spain, but especially during the feria, when women will wear colourful polka-dot dresses that add a swirling character and grace to the dance.
It is a dance of the people, beautiful, fun and entertaining. Wear your Spanish dresses and come to enjoy yourselves with us!
