This lively afternoon conference, convened by Jackie Ashley, President of Lucy Cavendish College Cambridge, will address some of the issues and choices facing women from work to the challenges of caring. An outstanding panel of speakers will lead discussions on working in frontline politics and public life, and on the impact of women in the new world of work and social media. It will also look at the caring challenges faced by all women at all stages of their life.

The conference will end with ‘How to achieve Women’s Equality’, a debate chaired by Jackie Ashley.

Jackie Ashley is the eighth President of Lucy Cavendish College Cambridge. She has been a high-profile political journalist and commentator for ITN, Channel 4 News, the BBC, the New Statesman and the Guardian. She has campaigned for better rights for women, for equal pay, for carers and for older women and health issues.

Other Speakers include: Yasmin Alibhai Brown, Dr Sue Black, Caroline Criado Perez OBE, Suzanne Evans, Harriet Harman, Ayesha Hazarika, Helena Herklots, Martha Kearney, Maria Miller, Amanda Platell, Hannah Rothschild, Polly Toynbee and Sophie Walker.

The conference is in celebration of the 50th anniversaries of Lucy Cavendish College Cambridge, the BBC World at One, and Carers UK, and is sponsored by The Rothschild Foundation, Astra Zeneca and BBC Worldwide.
