Numerous conflicts followed the First World War. As Many creators in France and the United Kingdom, French author Marc Dugain has been influenced by the issues and scars these conflict have left behind.

The much acclaimed author and director has, among other things, written and produced the novel and film The Officer’s Ward (La Chambre des Officiers), where, as in most of his work, he has tackled with great sensitivity the issues of the seriously disfigured wounded.

He will give a unique talk at St. John’s College on the traces of conflicts and the marks of the wounded in his work.

In relation with this event The Officer’s Ward will be screened on Friday 16th January 2015.
