A landmark exhibition, celebrating twenty years of a group of women photographers coming together. Their 19th exhibition offers a female perspective on how members view their place in the world. Some have created books for a special box set on the theme “To Be a Womanâ€.
Over the last twenty years more than 80 women have been members of CamIris. There has been a mixture of new members joining and a strong core which together has kept the group thriving. The group has
organised two successful conferences and published two books.
The aim of CamIris is to support women in the Cambridge area who are interested in photography and to encourage them to exhibit their work collectively. The group came out of the 1994 Signals-Festival of Women Photographers.
