The Alliance Française of Cambridge celebrates a once in a lifetime sporting spectacle as stage 3 of the 2014 Tour de France races through the streets of Cambridge.
On the 05th and 06th July on Parker’s Piece, as part of the Big Weekend, the Alliance Française will be celebrating this unique French sporting event by offering two days of fantastic cultural and sports activities in our marquee.
On Saturday 05th July, the Alliance Française will bring a French atmosphere to the Big Weekend by running a day of concerts featuring accordions, traditional French songs, French folk and jazz.
On Sunday 06th July, the Alliance Française and Living Sport will come together to organise a static bike race, the “Big Weekend Challengeâ€. Cambridge Schools, local businesses and the general public will take part in this challenge to see how far collectively and virtually we can cycle in one day, with the aim to reach the Champs Elysees in Paris, the traditional finish point for the Tour de France.
