Julie Maxwell will talk about her second novel, These Are Our Children. It is a story about an all-too-common experience: when pregnancy goes wrong.
It is also the story of a brilliant but controversial breakthrough in the medical science of neonatology. As well as talking about the inspiration and the research behind her own novel, Julie will discuss how women novelists have been writing about medicine and science in a new genre of fiction dubbed "lab-lit".
