"All artists are unique and can only unite as complementaries not as similarities"
Winifred Nicholson
This major exhibition brings together the work of painters Ben and Winifred Nicholson alongside that of their friends and fellow artists Christopher Wood, Alfred Wallis, and the potter William Staite Murray. There is the opportunity to see landscapes, sometimes depicting the same view, as well as paintings and ceramics that were shown together in contemporary exhibitions.
'Art and Life' has a special resonance for Kettle's Yard whose creator Jim Ede was friends with, and collected work by these artists. The exhibition is an opportunity to see key works from Kettle's Yard's collection, alongside major loans from institutions across the UK and from private collections.
The exhibition is accompanied by a new publication with specially commissioned essays, illustrated in full colour. Exhibition price £19.50
